Well everyone Aloha,
Well it is yet time for another Christmas transfer and once again I am on my way out the door. In fact I will be leaving Waimea tonight catching an 8 o clock flight to O'ahu for tomnorrows transfers. Things are ok though. President Dalton called about 3 yesterday to call me as a Zone Leader of the Makakilo zone, over on the west side. My new companion is going to be Elder Tausinga. He is from South Jordan and seems to be pretty cool. I have only talked to him once , but it should be fun. I am kinda disappointed to be leaving especially so soon. I haven't had much time to say goodbye to members or pack or do anything but it should be good. Jake's package came Saturday and the mail hadn't come yet today but I assume it will be there when we get back in a bit so we can get things settled. Thanks for all the thoughts. I'm a little surprised I will admit to be leaving so soon. I was just starting to settle in up here, but what the lord wants is how things are run here so that's who we will follow. Elder Ukenio ought to be alright I hope the best for him though. Anyway it has been a pretty short week lets see what I can recall.
Well Tuesday we had a good district meeting So I guess that was good. We had a thing about finding investigators. I had hidden lots of Candy around the Church and told people to go find them. All they had to do was asking me where they were and I would have told them, but they didn't so they struggled. Needless to say We talked about how Heavenly Father knows where the elect are so we should ask him. After we found all the candy and I brought out some drinks and we had a little party to finish off the transfer.
Wednesday the main thing I can remember is that we got about 5 of our youth investigators to come out to the mutual activity. They had set up lights all over the local skate park setting up a night skate time which was well liked and attended. I thought it was creative and worked out well.
Thursday was a special day for me. Elder Boyle who was my companion in Ka'u is now in Ke'ei which is at the bottom of Kona side right next to Ka'u anyway he is teaching Stephanie Taetuga's brother there. Anyway Pule went to the hospital again this week in Kona, so Stephanie called and requested that Elder Boyle and I would go visit him and give him a blessing. It was so nice to get to see him again. He isn't doing great but it was nice to get to see him, and even though he wasn't his usual self he still could talk story a bit and we could catch up a little. It was just a tender mercy I feel. Especially since it has been over a year since I left Ka'u crazy how fast time has flown. I laughed a bit when Pule brought up my stomach. Even he wanted a special rub of the big belly. :)\
Friday we were heading down to typical district leader meeting and right as we got into Kona Elder Carrel called, telling us there car wouldn't start and asked if we could pick them up. Anyway even I could figure it was the battery, but they insisted they left no lights on and have no idea whats up. We decided to deal with it after the meeting, and the baptism interview I needed to do for them. Anyway a member offered to charge the battery on his charger so we took it out of the car and charged it while we did some service for their Christmas party that night. Anyway as we were assembling the battery back into its spot right as we were going to put the cables back Elder Carrel nervously asked if it was going to spark as soon as we put the things back on. I told him it shouldn't but as we connected them they sparked a bit and the lights IMMEDIATLY CAME ON! Hmm I said. Guess they left the lights on after all haha. Anyway after that we headed back to Waimea for our Christmas party. Just typical I guess it was a good time.
Saturday was just typical I guess. We just did a bit of service and then a few visits and finished with Dinner at Bro Cole's and then to the other ward's Christmas party.
Yesterday was a good time at Church. After Church they have a BYD, Bishop's Youth Discussion, anyway they invited all the wards of North and we had the Carnival of Life, Where you could play Worldy, or Spiritual games. The Worldly game just gave pieces of candy, but the spiritual games gave you tickets, that at Judgement determined your kingdom. Our was to share spiritual messages on Agency and try to get everyone to not use there "money" on world games, but the spiritual side that matters much more in eternity. It was good fun.
Anyway sorry it is kinda short letter sorry about that, but I really need to pack and get things together anyway thanks for all the support. I assume I will call sometime in the Morning next week, but I can't say exact times since I don't know our plans but I do think we should use the conference call. I'll probably end up calling Christmas eve night to finalize things as well. Anyway I Love you all can't wait to chat. I hope everyone has a great week. :)
Love, Elder Tripp,
The West Side Warrior. I realized I have served on the west side of every island I have served on.
