Good Transfer So Far!

Aloha!

Well this week has gone by super fast. It was sad to see Elder Mafi leave, but Elder Robbins is awesome! It is Elder Robbins from Utah though, not the one who was just in Kaneohe. He was in Hilo my 1st 6 weeks, and he has been on the west coast of Oahu for the last 7 months. He speaks some heavy pigeon. haha It rained almost continuously from Sunday night to Friday morning. Glad to hear you made it safe home to Grantsville. I found out that Elder Hudson, who was one of my best friends in the MTC is now serving in your ward George so that kind of cool I guess. Thanks for the shorts I hope they make it safe. Sorry to hear about Coach Cloward that is no good at all.

So Monday we mostly just hung around the pad writing letters and what not. The 2 elders were getting all of their stuff packed up. We had a good FHE lesson at Bishops house about the gospel and how it brings us all together. I went really well i thought.

Tuesday it rained the hardest. It was so crazy. We were driving through lots of lakes. There are lots of road that aren't paved so  those got pretty washed out, and there still are plenty of puddles around. We mostly just visited all the great members and people Elder Mafi wanted to visit one last time before he left. Apuna's fed us dinner that night which was excellent as always.

Wednesday the rain and wind held off in the morning long enough for the 2 Elders to fly out, but the 2 flying in got delayed an hour, and then the plane had to circle around 3 times to finally land because visibility was low and hard to see the runway. The new guys are Elder Robbins, who is from Santaquin, and Elder Turina from Tahiti. They are both solid elders and it is always lots of fun to be with them. Elder Robbins and I went around and got to know the ward a little bit. He seems to be picking up names and areas pretty quick which is nice.

Thursday and Friday we did service in the morning at 2 less actives and one non members house. We had lessons after each of them and that went really well. We will have to see how things turn out with them. Other than that we kinda had a few slow days. We did do lots of tracting I guess which was nice.

Saturday we were going to play flag football with the young men, but since this week is spring break and lots of the ward was already gone for the ward temple trip in Kona this week it was cancelled. We ended up helping an older Filipino lady with her yard. Around 1 the whole island lost power. That made things a little tricky. Power came on at our pad right about dinner time, but our area didn't receive power til about midnight so we called it a night around 6.

Sunday was typical Sunday  The talks were on Temple Marriage and preparing for that. We had a few investigators out to church which is always nice. It gets the ward motivated to do more missionary work and stuff like that so that is always nice. Dinner was great as always on Sunday. We stopped by Apuna's on our way home to make sure we had all the directions to feed their dogs and water their plants while they are gone to Kona all week. They also hooked us up with their milk and an unopened gallon of Pog which is awesome. They treat us so well. They said they were also going to stop at Punalu'u bakery down in Na'alehu and promised to bring home some malasadas. :) Made me miss Kau a little bit. Last night Elder Copier called and told me Pule's son and his wife have both been baptized down in Ka'u. It made me so excited I am so excited Tui finally chose to make those commitments and his wife as well. Always good to hear about things like that.

So that's about it this week. Sorry I don't have much more to say. Elder Robbins is awesome. He reminds me a lot of Taylor Mathews which is kinda cool. He is a hard worker and we are always laughing in the car. It sure make missionary work a blast! I Love you all! ALOHA!
                                                                Love, Elder Tripp
