"Pigeon" the real Hawaiian language!

Wazzup Ohana,

Hoo bah! We seen choke miracles these days out doing the daily Da Kine visiting all our wonderful aunties and uncles on Molokai. Sorry just had to throw a little local lingo in with the letter this week, in honor of dad developing an accent. That's way cool you got met Elder Lepule. I am not sure I have met him, but I know a lot of him and it seems that he is a lot like Pule down in Ka'u so I hope to run into him sometime during my mission. Things were solid here this week. We had the Traveling Assistants out with us for the weekend so that was lots of fun. We ended up finding 8 new investigators on Thursday and Friday, and 5 committed to dates the 1st week of April so that was way exciting. Hope the trip was good to Maui, Lanai, and Oahu. I assume Molokai was easily seen from Lanai as Lanai is always visible from Molokai.

Monday we went down to Mo'omomi beach to go hang out on the rocks and watch the waves crash. It was a good time for the most part. I was hoping to see some Iwa birds, but we didn't see any. Other than that we just kinda crashed around our pad for Pday. Nothing to crazy.

Tuesday and Wednesday we just normal days for the most part. We did have a lesson on Tuesday with Moana who we have been teaching the past few weeks. She is doing good, but we are still trying to help her stop smoking. Her testimony is getting stronger every week so that is positive.

Thursday was pretty intense. We went and picked up the Assisstants at 7 and then did studies and what not prepping for the day. Elder Woodfield came with us for the day. We had service in the morning and had a good lesson after with the less active family. It brought tears so I guess that means the spirit was strong right? Anyway that took up our morning, so we headed to Molokai Burger to meet the others and had a good lunch. I got my usual Bacon Cheeseburger and Onion rings with a carbonated fruit punch. After we went to seek out a referral from a member, but they weren't home. So we ended up knocking a few doors around and found Lila. She said she had a few minutes so we taught her the whole restoration. She seemed pretty interested. So we will see when we go again Thursday  After we made a few visits and then decided to tract for an hour. The 3rd house we knocked on was a guy who started to walk out of his house, and then saw us so he walked back inside. Well, we caught him on the side of the house and talked story about his cars and what not for a few minutes, it turns out his friend who was with him just has a sister get converted who was taught by Elder Woodfield. So that sparked a conversation and Nate ended up also committing to baptism. It was a pretty cool miracle I thought although it is still going to take some work to get him ready. We had Dinner at the church and then played Volleyball for an hour with the YSA, and called it a night. I was so tired. It felt so good though to just think about all the good experiences of the day, but it was nothing compared to Friday.

So Friday we switched AP's and took Elder Gardner with us. He was like me and was trained and then trained someone else in Ka'u and it was way fun to talk with him about Ka'u stories and all the awesome people. We ended up going to the West end like we usually do on Fridays  We could see Oahu this week, which was a change from past weeks. Our 1st house we had planned was the Gomes and just the daughter was around and was super shy so we showed her a quick object lesson and told her we would come back in an hour to see if her family was back by then. We started to walk across the apt complex to another family, but we stopped and talked to a lady outside finishing a cigarette. We talked with her about what she wanted in life and then we somehow got onto guidance by prophets. We showed her the same object lesson about Christ being the foundation and the priesthood authority  We were building it up good to finish with Priesthood and Restoration when she asked the question, "so what the difference  between Mormons and other Christians?" GOLDEN!!!! Boom goes the Dynamite! we committed her to baptism and read the Book of Mormon. She said she really wanted to read, but wanted to get on the same page with her Husband before committing to baptism. So hopefully we can teach them both this week. At this time it was time to go back to Gomes and teach them. We taught the whole family and got them excited about Baptism. Sister Gomes grew up strong in the church, but fell away at some point. Her Oldest 3 were baptized, but the younger 3 haven't been. She told us she wanted to come back to church and have her kids be baptized. So we committed they accepted, and they even came to Church yesterday. We then went down and taught another investigator and had a pretty good lesson about the law of chastity and getting married before baptism which they will do so that's was way cool. I guess this weekend just taught me that Heavenly Father puts places for a reason. If we have the faith Miracles will happen.

Saturday was just a usual day. We had a ward service project in the morning, and basketball at night. Elder Maughan ended up biting through his lip around 8 he had to go get stitched so that was kinda a bummer. ha ha still lots of fun and it is truly working wonders for missionary work.

Yesterday was indeed transfer calls. Elder Pincock and Mafi who both came to Molokai together are both leaving for Oahu. Elder Pincock in going to Mililani. We know because he was called by President to be a district leader. Elder Mafi wont find out where he is going until the transfer meeting Wednesday morning. I am going to miss him a lot, but it is also nice for a change. I'm pretty positive the new guy will be solid, well I am hoping anyway. Anyway that is about it for this week I love you all and Aloha!

                     Love, Elder Tripp
