6 Days until Mother's Day

Hey howz it?

Man time is just moving right along ya? seems like just the other day I was just flew in to Molokai and talked with you guys on Christmas. Things are fine here. 12:30 still works great. Ill probably call Sunday morning around 9 your time to confirm. Today we got up at 5 to go fishing. We didn't have as much success as we planned on, well big fish anyway. we caught lots of little fish, but nothing too big. It was still lots of fun. Hopefully in the next couple weeks a member is going to take us fishing for Ulua, or Giant trevally as they are called over there on the main land. Nothing too interesting to look forward to this week, but the next 2 after we will be going to Oahu and Maui for zone conference and a mission tour by Elder Wilson of the seventy who spoke in conference about his daughter playing soccer on Sunday, so those should be good times.

Tuesday we had a visit from the traveling assistants. Elder Tuihalangingie came with us. He was born in Tonga, but moved to Oakland when he was 7 or so. He was lots of fun. I had heard lots of stories about him so it was nice to finally meet him. It was a great day. We found everyone home, and had some solid lessons. We had another lesson with Chad. He was still hung up on the fall, but he said it is because he isn't sure about The Book of Mormon. We bore testimony of it and invited him to read and pray. He offered the closing prayer and it was a very sincere and from the heart prayer. It was a great way to end the lesson. We had a nice steak and potato dinner and then finished up with dessert at Apuna's. They love to meet all the Elders who come through so we had to stop with Elder Tui.

Wednesday was just a good solid day of missionary work. we followed up on a referral given to us last Sunday about 3 people who would like to hear the lessons. They weren't home, but the mom said to come back later so we will hit that up this week and hope things go better. I know they will. We continue to be blessed with good dinners. Wednesday we had bbq chicken with pudding cake for dessert. My pants still fit though so that is good. :)

Thursday we planned for the up coming week. we planned some activities to try to plan with the ward council. We visited Debra as well she was doing good.

Friday we did service for a less active part member family. They were getting ready for their daughters graduation party and we offered to  help put up the tents, and then we help skin and gut the pig for the Imu. That night there was a thing for the scouts, I guess a competition between the 2 troops of flag raising, knot tying, fire starting etc. It went well past 9 when we had to leave, but it was well attended and there seemed to be lots of skill in the wards

Saturday was the Hula PIco festival. I guess it was to honor the history of the Hula. Anyway, We got up at 4:30 to help brother Apuna cook some short ribs to sell down at the event. Sis Apuna was at a wrestling tournament for their son Kade so we filled in with extra hands. Things went smooth, and since the whole island was down at the festival we took some time to check it out get some great food, and talk to tons of people. We probably handed out 50 cards. I was thinking next time we should set up a booth and give out free Copies of the book of Mormon, and dvds.

Yesterday was a good fast Sunday. not too much interesting to report. We got a new ward mission leader. It is Bishop's son who just came home from his mission in January so that is nice, he is lots easier to relate to because he is fresh off doing missionary work and knows how it goes. We watched Prince of Egypt with Ben and his family last night. He always has lots of questions about the gospel which is great. He is getting so close to baptism he just needs commit to a date. I know it is on his time though and Heavenly Father will bless him.

Thanks for everything everybody. Can't wait to talk on Sunday. Hope all goes well for you this week wherever you may be. I love you all and ALOHA!
              Love, Elder Tripp
