Well transfers have come and gone... and nothing has changed. Kinda a bummer I was hoping for some change, but its not my will but Heavenly Fathers. This week was really crazy and we spent lots of time running errands for everyone and ourselves. We did however have a baptism!!! :) It was excellent and well attended. It was one of the best I have had on my mission. She was so ready to be baptized. Excited to hear that Grantsville got off to a good start. I wasn't sure if the season started this week or next week. How is Utah looking? Ready to make some noise in the Pac 12 I hope.
I guess the theme of this week was car trouble. Tuesday we had pad inspections and car inspections. We had known that our car wasn't holding oil so we were regularly putting oil in it every couple weeks or so. Last inspection we noticed the problem, but they didn't want to do anything right away with it. Anyway it was decided that we should get it into the dealer pronto and get it fixed. Anyway that night we had one last lesson with Darriane and finalized all the preparations for that.
Wednesday we took our car down into Honolulu to get it fixed. Elder King also came down sick. There has been a bug going around our zone and I guess it was his turn. Lots of nausea and headaches, not very fun.
Thursday our car was still being worked on until around 5 so we did what we could around the pad, week plan, studies etc and then we went on a few teaching appointments with the zone leaders and headed down to grab the car. That night we had the interview with Darianne and played some basketball with the ward. I'm always impressed with the athleticism of the ward. They are pretty good and lots of fun to play with. Sometimes it gets to the point like the winners are going to get a tryout with the lakers, but for the most part the game stays pretty calm. Church ball at its finest. :)
Friday we had an extra Elder with us. Elder Villareal has spent this whole transfer with mini missionaries His scheduled companion went home on transfer day with medical problems so he has had about 4 companions from the stake, kids wanting to test out missionary life, but now with school he has just bounced around with others. He came with us and we taught a good lesson with his investigator. She really felt the spirit and said she would for sure be at church, which she was. We had to give a blessing up in Kaneohe and had dinner up there as well. We drove right down Kamehameha. The lights were on in the house but I didn't spot any people. We ended up having dinner at windward mall. Panda express has grown on me a lot lately, which surprises me because I would never touch it before my mission.
Saturday we had the baptism. The Family all came out and lots of ward members to support. The usual feast was on after. Ono Grindz bra! Baptisms always get the job down for me spiritually I love them. Nice that Grantsville also cashed in a Victory on baptism week.;) hopefully Utah can do the same in the coming weeks.
Yesterday Church was nice. Transfer plans were that night so everyone was on edge everywhere. Everyone always calls around looking for some insights, but I don't usually get too involved in the speculation because it usually isn't too accurate. Kinda sad that Elder Lepule is leaving so soon. Kinda a bummer, Hopefully some old friends will show up though I guess we will see Wednesday. Lots of family on the islands this week. Hope all is well. I am low on medicine again mom if you will send some of that with the other stuff that would be nice. Dr Lee must have been to the Honolulu Tongan ward. That is where Elder Hudson is now. Small world. Love all y'all baby.
Aloha!
Love Elder Tripp
PS Pictures are from the baptism, I will probably send a cd home soon
