Aloha Family,
Things went well this week, I still haven't knowingly passed it, but the pain had gone down considerably since around Thursday Morning, but I kicked back up yesterday at Church so hopefully that means it is close. Maybe I didn't mention but they gave me Vicodin to take for pain every so often when I hurts but I hadn't taken any since Thursday, anyway I still haven't drank any soda at all since the ordeal, kinda proud about that. I have an appointment tomorrow in Hilo with the urologist to go over the CT scan or whatever, I realized i forgot to mention last week that I used our insurance for the prescriptions and then used the medical visa card was the the right thing to do? hope so? Anyway things went good this week still.
So Tuesday was P day and went fine. We ended with Dinner at Bishops house. It was some good pasta. I'll admit though I am still adjusting to regular sized portions and by that I just mean 2 plates of food. It is definitely different from just eating and eating and eating like the Moanalua days. Yesterday getting ready for church my belt felt comfortable on the tightest setting, don't know if that means some of the weight is coming off or just possibly shifted around for the day I guess we will see. Also Tuesday night I went and bought one of those half gallon jugs everyone used to always take to little league practice to help me drink more water. seems to be working.
Wednesday we didn't do a ton, I didn't feel super great so we just hit our one appointment in the morning and the other in the evening. The Evening was with Todd again. We are helping him cut down on his smoking. We plan this week to help him implement the 12 step program or whatever its actually called so hopefully that will go well.
Thursday I woke up feeling excellent. It was a nice change of pace for sure. We spent the morning doing some service and had a small lesson with the family. He attended SUU back in 2005 so that was kinda cool. Said he dated a girl from Tooele but I didn't recognize the name hmm anyway we did a little tracting after lunch up in Kawaehai it is the north part of our area about 30 miles or so from the top of the island, didn't find much success although there is possibly one person we could go back and see this week. That night we a lesson with a Marshaleese couple that is coming to church pretty faithfully they aren't married though. I guess the culture is to make sure everyone on both sides of the family is cool with your marriage before it goes for through so we are working with them planning a date so they can get baptized after should be exciting when it finally happens.
Friday was our DLTM meeting. It went well It was the 1st one I have ever been to We brainstormed some idea of how we can hit our monthly goal of 20 in November we didn't think of anything too outside the box but we will see how it goes. Friday afternoon we headed back to Waimea to have another lesson with Todd and then to see Maxx. He is excited for Saturday for his Baptism. It is going to be at 2 and then the Trunk o Treat starts at 4 so it should be a very spiritual and fun day. I am looking forward. should be as good as they come on the mission.
Saturday we went back to brother McMillans house to help him with a flag pole project. Took a few hours to do and then he fed us lunch after. He is such a nice guy. He took us on a tour of his property and those around him He owns about 60 acres up there and there are lots of HUGE houses around, he said they are worth probably close to 20 million a pop crazy stuff. That night we hung with a few more investigators that are progressing slowly. It looks like we have some good potential to finish the year strong. Good to hear LSU took care of A&M at Kyle field. Bummer about Utah and BYU sounds like they both played decent a member in our ward is a big Utah fan and he mentioned Wilson looked much better Saturday and Christopher seemed to be the goat of the game.
Yesterday was another peaceful Sunday. Church went well I was asked to give a 5 min talk. No sweat just another day as a missionary right? ha thought it went ok. Just a little talk about prayer and the blessings that can come from it. After we visited a few people and ended up at the Wiberg home. Sis Wiberg is Thai so we had some HOT HOT HOT Thai food. who knew that such small peppers could pack such a pop. My mouth was on fire. Also managed my share of chicken feet and other cuisine haha its all good though.
