Hey all.
Whats up whats up? Things are going good over here. I'm happy for sure. It's small kine different over here on the windward side of an island after spending close give or take 18 months on the leeward sides of islands.Sunday night is dumped like crazy, but the nice kind of crazy. It keeps things much cooler instead of being really hot. We cover Kaneohe 3rd ward and 6th YSA branch. I am in a tripanionship with Elder Ludovico from the Philippines who is my ZL companion and then we have Elder Viliko with us from Niue. Its been lots of fun with them. Elder Ludovico has a degree in nursing so he has taken it upon himself to make sure I don't have another kidney stone. :) Although every time he tries to hassle me about drinking too much juice and soda instead of water, I politely inform him, " I took 21 years to get my 1st one. I figure I have 21 more to go before another one." ;) Sounds fun to here y'all are going to watch some of the Madness. should be a blast. I think this is the year that a 1 seed loses to a 16. Sounds like Utah made a small run to end the season which is positive. Anyway lets see what has happened this week.
Tuesday was spent packing and saying goodbye. Tuesday night we headed down to the church to play Basketball with the Ward one more time and I ended up spraining an ankle that has bothered me a bit this week but it is getting better.
Wednesday was typical transfer day. Its always great to see everyone again. I had a good time hanging with Elder Carrel and Elder Hall. Kanohe 2nd has new missionaries. They split 1st and 2nd wards so Elder Johnston went to the 1st ward with a companion and then 2 including a brand new 18 yr old came to the 2nd ward so we waited until all was pau and then showed them to their new pad and what not, then called it a night.
Thursday we took Elder Viliko down to his physical therapy in town. That is part of the reason why he is with us, and the other reason is how he got the injury but that's another story. ha ha Things went smooth and then the afternoon seems to have slipped away. We had institute with the singles and then headed out to Waimanalo for a baptism interview.
Friday we had district meeting with the zone and then headed to the windward mall for lunch. I always think of Austin when I see the train roll through. Things were good Friday we had 5 lessons that were pretty solid and we have lots of potential baptisms to solidify. We even had a great lesson with a couple and committed them to the ole "I do I do dunk-a-roo. So hopefully it works out.
Saturday bacame a service day .Originally we had planned to hike Makapu lighthouse with the singles, but the 3rd ward was having a service project at the skate park painting over graffiti so we went there instead. After we headed to the Kanahele's in 1sst ward to help them with dejunking a house. They said they knew George pretty well and that he was their go to guy at the ward camp out for medical stuff. They seem like a fun family.
Church was good as usual the talks were nice. We only get to stay for sacrament at the singles branch because our next ward is at 1 in Kailua due to the stake center being down. The 3rd ward was great too. Lots of Aloha.
Yesterday at ZLC was a good time.I always enjoy what president has to say and the new things going on in the mission. It is also always great to see all my good friends. Things went smooth we got some Korean bbq take out and then headed out to FHE with the singles.
Hope the week keeps going good with Geo and the Kids in town. Love you all. The Office called Saturday to ask if they needed to put our street address or if they should just put the P.O. box to send some stuff home. I assume it is travel itinerary and what not so I guess you can watch out for that. Hope this finds everyone well. Aloha!
Love, Elder Tripp
