Another nice week

Aloha Family,

It was a good week for the most part. Glad you got the picture. Cole seems to have warmed up to me nicely. I assume it is because the other kids recognize me. Yes mom my suit still manages although I don't wear the original suit pants. Anyway it was nice to be in Laie for stake conference. The baptism did go through all though there was some drama late. Felt super good to have another one. Sounds like just regular weeks from everyone. Dad asked about what I wanted to eat for dinner upon my return, I think I would like something out of the Dutch oven whether it is chicken and potatoes or Ribs with baked potatoes. Both would be enjoyable for me. Things seem to be winding down a bit for me. I'm hoping to have one more baptism the weekend before I leave so we are going to try hard for that. Next week is our temple trip Tuesday so next week that is when the email will come. We also have another zone leader council next Monday to get everyone fired up for June to finish strong for President Dalton. We are shooting for 200 baptisms. Anyway lets see what happened this week.

Tuesday we had typical district meeting and then headed into town to turn in some medical forms for an elder to the office. We had just cleared the tunnel of the Pali before the Elder realized he hadn't signed them so we drove back and met him to get them signed. When we finally gave them to Sister Scott in the office, she noted that he had forgot to sign in a couple of places so we ran back once more and finally got things done.

Wednesday we met up with Christian to finalize plans for the baptism and everything was going smooth so we just finished planning the program and then watched the restoration with him and called it a lesson. Later we had a lesson down at the Church and we bumped into Kimi and the kids and then later George came to pick them up. Our lesson was with a guy named Nisi. he has been coming out for the past couple months. He seems ready but he doesn't think he is yet so we are working with him.

Thursday was pretty regular I know we had to email something in to the APs and we ran into Kimi and the kids again just getting out of story time. so that was fun. We visited a few other people and then had a late dinner drop off at the house. That night we went to grab something from the Pasi Kala's and it just so happened that Sister Fujikawa was in town for a visit which was exciting. We talked story for about an hour or so about the good ole Ka'u days and how everyone was doing.

Friday the big events were the apartment above the Waimanalo elders caught fire so they are living with us now. It was nice having just 2 of us for a few days at least ha ha. We were hoping it would just be a couple of days to let the smoke smell go away and what not, but we found out This morning their lease is cancelled so they will probably be with us throughout my mission. Our dinner ended up cancelling which was perfect because Sister Fujikawa and her Husband wanted to take us out, which was super nice we ended up going to Big City Diner in Kailua, it was good. That night around 8 started feeling flu like symptoms and had a pretty miserable night.

Saturday I woke up feeling pretty crappy, but we made last minute preparations for the baptism. Christian had made plans for lots of his friends to give talks and then he called Saturday morning to say most couldn't make it so we scrabbled to get a program together on such short notice. It worked out fine and Tony our recent convert gave a powerful talk on baptism and how he came to know Baptism and the Church were right for him. After we just kinda took it easy for the day.

Sunday we had Stake conference in Laie and I was feeling much improved. We went to the visitor center after to watch the Joseph Smith movie with our investigator family and then we checked out a few of the other things there which was fun. after we had dinner with them of Shrimp and Chicken alfredo so that was really good. The night ended a little strange so the Wifi was down at our house where we usually send our numbers from so we ended up having to go to use McDonald's free wifi with the laptop we borrowed to send them in to the assistants.

Hope everyone's week goes well. It has been nice to always hear from everyone every week of my mission. Crazy we sent each other over 100 emails. Thanks so much Love you all!! and ALOHA!

Love, Elder Tripp
