Wow can you believe it is already Monday once again.crazy how fast time can fly these days. Sounds like St George was really fun. Had to squeeze one last trip without me eh? ;) just kidding. Glad Brian Regan was funny. I heard he is coming over here in June or July. Super excited to chat on Sunday should be fun. Things have been small kine busy over here, lots of running around helping the zone. The sisters pad has bed bugs which is never fun and they were pretty freaked out by it so we helped them solve the problem. Elder Fuhriman and I are still going strong.
So Tuesday after Emailing we had to meet up with the AP's to drop off a couple baptismal records for the month. Then we headed up to teach Christian. It was a solid lesson. He committed to May 18th with a promise of no more pushing it back. We already have the building reserved and he is already telling everyone about it so it should go through this time. That night we got a drop off from the Kau family and then took our "P-day" from 6:30 til pau. Sometimes you have to sacrifice.
Wednesday was Pearl Harbor service day for us.It was lots of fun this time around we swept the main deck. After the main guy over the service took us on a good tour of the inside of the ship. we got to see the boiler and engine rooms as well as the main firing room where the big guns are activated from which was kinda cool. They have the trigger set up to a video showing the guns fire, kinda fun. After leaving Pearl Harbor we had a minor glitch. One of the Elder had left his car lights on so the battery was dead by the time we came out. We tried to flag someone down with jumper cables, but since there are choke tourists everyone just has rental cars. We finally got a hold of the Aiea elders and they came with a member to jump them and we headed on our way to traditional Wendy's lunch and then made the trip back over to Kaneohe. Wednesday night we went on splits with out new WML in the singles branch. IT was going smooth until Kaneohe 2nd called us to pick them up to go find their car which had been towed. Bummer.
Thursday we headed into town in the morning to take care of somethings as well as pick up the traveling assistants to bring them to Kaneohe. We stopped at Pizza Hut buffet before taking them to the elders they were going to go out with. It was a good time with Elder Maughan who was with me on Molokai, and Elder Carrel who was my Zone Leader in Kona. fun fun fun. anyway we taught a few lessons and then headed down to Institute to call it a night.
Friday was a super quick day. It started with DLTM and that was when we noticed that one of the sisters had lots of red bumps on her arms. So we spent the afternoon helping them get bug killer and steam their beds and what not. After that we helped Bro Kanahele fix up a house he is working on getting ready to rent. We mostly painted which was fun I guess. After we had dinner with at their house with the 1st ward elders and Elder Carrel.
Saturday we had. service in the morning and then headed down to Waimanalo for a baptism in the afternoon. After that we braved the pouring rain and helped an old auntie move an old dishwasher from here 3rd story apt to the curb side for pick up. The rain was pouring and we hadn't had dinner yet so at 7 we called it a day and ate dinner got into dry clothes prepared for Sunday etc.
Yesterday was AMAZING. Testimony meeting in the branch was especially nice.About 15 min before the meeting ended I noticed Brother and Sister Ka'awa, SIster Apuna's parents, walk into the meeting. I waved and they seemed happy to see me. By the end of the meeting the whole Apuna clan was at church. Brother Apuna has a sister in Kaneohe 2nd so they came to church with them. They were all in town for Ka'ulu's Seminary graduation. It was super fun to see everyone again and talk story for a bit. They are for sure my favorite family in Hawaii and it has been a blessing to be here in Hawaii as well as Kaneohe side for my last few months. They asked when I was planning on coming back to visit and I told them I would have to consult the family. :) Anyway Church we had our typical lesson with the family of 4. We decided they needed to push the baptism date back. It turns out there are some issues with past relationships but the new date it's June 15. It is kinda disappointing to not be able to be there, but I am super excited at how much their lives seem to have changed in the past Month we have been working with them.
Today is just going to be an easy day I think. We are planning on crazy ball in the afternoon, but I love you all. I know the church is true. Bummer about the Hutchins being gone, but I'm sure there will be plenty of time to catch up. Can't wait to call it will probably be close to 7:30. Our plan is to leave the 3rd ward at 3 and then drive the 20 min to our pad. Ill probably call Saturday night to confirm, but I love you all Thanks for all the support. ALOHA
Love, Elder Tripp
