Aloha Family,
Well I feel like this has been an eventful week. I got the packages today and opened them... sue me! Thanks for the clothes they should be great! :) I love the Napolean Dynamite action figure. This week I also got me a few presents hope that was ok. I got a gallon water jug to carry around in the car. I decided that I had been drinking too much soda and that was because I never had water with me and at 7-11 who buys water right? Anyway with my new jug around I always have water and never need to buy soda. I also found some nice pens at Office Depot that I found make my handwriting much nicer so I got some of those as well. Good to hear that Utah got the job done. Sounds like the start was a little shaky for the O but Utah seems to play strong defense usually so that is good to hear. I will admit I am somewhat nervous about this week with Utah state. They seem much improved since Utah last played them. Labor day weekend seems to be one of the hardest parts of the year for me, because I miss college football. Plenty of time later though right? Anyway Ill see what I can remember from last week.
Tuesday we mostly just had some less actives to go and visit. We ended up down in the downtown area which was kinda fun we don't seem to go down there much so it is nice for a change in scenery.
Wednesday we had a great lesson with a few girls. they let us sit and talk with them. We talked about baptism and what the Book of Mormon says about it. They accepted to read and pray and then when they knew it was true they would be baptized. So i guess we will see. Wednesday night we found another family as we were looking for some one else but ran into them. It just builds my testimony of being where the lord wants me to me.
Thursday was weekly planning and then we got out and saw a few people. We had lots of lessons fall through disappointingly. We did teach a lesson or 2 on the spot so that was good.
Friday we had some more lessons fall through. We did have a lesson and dinner in Kaneohe which was fun I guess. We ended up getting money from our dinner and so we decided to hit up Arby's since that one in Kaneohe is the only one we can go to so we decided to give that a shot. It was ok I guess.
Saturday we did some more service tracting since it worked last week. We caught lots of people watching Hawaii get slaughtered by USC, but we also had some people who seemed to enjoy seeing us in regular clothes I know one person mentioned how we always look so clean, but it was nice to see we were willing to get dirty so that was positive I thought. We had dinner in Mililani with a family that has been working to bring a friend to Church. We had a good lesson The Spirit was very strong and it was a positive experience all around.
Sunday we saw a miracle. Samoan testimony meetings usually tend to be a like farewell speeches or congratulations for someone in the ward, anyway a palagi girl walked in with a Samoan girl. We had never seen either of them before. Anyway the white girl got up and bore her testimony of how she had always wanted to share the gospel with her friend and wanted her to know it was true. Even though she understood no Samoan she wanted her friend to get to come to church in her language and we are going to teach her after church next week so that was really exciting :) I was pumped.
Nothing real exciting happened yesterday mostly just played basketball and volley ball for a bit so that was fun I guess. Thanks again for the Birthday wishes. I love you all You guys are the best. Can't wait to see how the "extreme makeover" mom edition turns out. Sounds like I might not recognize the house when I get back. I love you all and Aloha!
Love, Elder Tripp
