Sure are lots of Samoans here with ties to the Utah football program‏

Hey all,

Pretty interesting week. I guess you could say the big new I guess is that my companion thought it would be nice to put a the rind of a watermelon down our disposal... we had to play plumber for the day, but the lord was watching over us and we were able to get the problem fixed without too much trouble although it did take some time. That is so cool you met someone from Hawaii, It must be Sister Lindo! She is such a sweet lady and always called us her Children. She was always mentioning how she was going to visit Utah this summer so it must be her. Ya Elder Hudson is now ZL in Honolulu zone. I am in Hon West zone. He serves in the Tongan branch though so we should see him around KPT every once in a while so I am excited about that. Elder Lepule is now in our zone as well, but just an English ward. He is lots of fun he says he misses Cole plenty.

So Monday and Tuesday we spent the nights saying goodbye to other elders leaving in the zone. Tuesday afternoon we found a new investigator and a taught a lesson or 2 so I guess that is all good.

Wednesday we had a great lesson with a lady named Leslie who we found out is a part member family. She was mentioning about how here son was going to College and how she wasn't sure if he made the right choice to go play ball somewhere in California instead of going to snow. I guess she is cousins with Matt Asiata as well which was kinda cool to find out. Anyway we taught her from 2 ne 32 about how the words of Christ will show us all things we should do. We invited her to read and pray and then come to church. Unfortunately she didn't come to church. That's ok though I think she really wants the gospel in her family's life she just needs some time so that is exciting. It just feels so good to have those good lessons where the spirit is and we see people truly trying to change their life to be more happy.

Thursday was our plumbing day. We still did manage to get some work done. We tracked down a few former investigators. Pretty sure they didn't know they had been dropped which is always good. They were happy to have a little lesson about the restoration and invited us back so we will see how that goes. We were supposed to have a mini missionary for the weekend this week, but last minute he dropped out.

Friday we were out and about. We had our weekly district meeting which was the first time to meet all the new people in the zone. I feel like we have a pretty good zone. should be lots of fun. I guess I am most excited for zone unity our new zone seems to have. Last transfer everyone kinda did there own thing, but this transfer it looks like everyone will meet together for Pday activities which is fun. Anyway we mostly went and followed up on lots of people who said come back later. We met Nai Fotu's Sister and bro in law walking around Kam 4 housing which was kinda cool. I realized they must know someone with all the Utes gear they had on.They go to the Waipahu Samoan ward, but they were visiting friends so we talked story a bit.

Saturday we headed down to Palolo Valley which is kinda the Kaimuki side of Honlulu. There are lots of nice less actives down there. We found a new investigator there as well. Down there we also bumped into VJ fehoko's dad VJ scored against BYU last year they have a big picture of him in the End zone. Pretty cool I must say. Time just flew by this week.

Yesterday we taught young men's about the restoration. English is fine with them. I think this week was the 1st week we had an all Samoan Sacrament meeting and I was surprised at how much I understood. I still feel like they speak way too fast but its all good. They are so loving and I love being with them. Please make sure we have plenty of corn beef when I get home. I already liked it before I came here, but I now LOVE IT! I eat it almost every day. whether at dinner with members or for lunch by myself. I also have come to really enjoy fried spam especially when it is sliced thin like bacon. I Love you all and am very thankful for all you do for me. Thanks for all the support and letters. You guys are the best Aiga a Sole like me could have. Love you all. Aloha and Talofa!!

 Love, Elder Tripp
